This laptop is my ex-wife's (we're still friends), and neither of us can afford a new laptop fir her, so I can only try to get a new HD installed and going. Since I happened to have a spare HD, I thought I'd give it a go, but the OEM license is proving to be the sticking point since this was originally a business machine. I cannot use the Microsoft recovery site since it's an OEM license. HP does not seem to have anything I can download and while I appreciate the advice about the digital river mirror site, I have a personal aversion to torrent downloads. I've spent way too many hours cleaning up my sons laptop because of viruses introduced via bit torrent.
Hey guys im trying to reinstall windows 7 OA on a new lenovo x201 that i just boughti dont want to try installing it only to find that i cant use the key that came with the computer, windows 7 pro 64 bit came preinstalled and i want to keep that version (and key) from the manufacturer on the laptopi have had problems in the past with the reinstalls on machines that had OEM verions of windows preinstalled on the box. Will i be able to use the license on the bottom of the computer if i get a copy of windows 7 pro? Will i need an 'oa' (what is that anyway?) version?any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hello there,Well my goal was to do a clean format and reinstall windows to factory setting. I had done that before with the Windows 7 recovery disks that I burned when I first got my Asus laptop. But this time I could not find the recovery program, being fraustrated I tried to restore it using the F9 key, it wanted to restore by making a system image, and then it ended up overwriting the harddrive. Now windows will not boot at all. It goes to a black screen asking for media to boot.Now the question is will your software help me? Also can I still format and reinstall windows to a clean state?

I am currently using win 7 home, and it is giving me some problems such as not loading my integrated webcam and keyboard drivers. When I go to device manager, I can see the drivers, but the software is nowhere to be found on my computer.
