The learning partnership between home and school, allows for Homework to be a positive experience. From the Early Years upwards, parents are encouraged to support their child's learning, through shared reading, phonics practice, learning key spelling, times tables and more formal research and written pieces. A child who is able to practise reading and maths facts at home, is supported by parents with more formal homework, will be in the best position to thrive at school and beyond.
Top education researchers tell us that homework has little impact for primary age pupils, unless it requires children to rehearse and practise. Other commentators are increasingly highlighting pressure on children and the need for them to enjoy their childhood, having a break from school work at home. Leading educationalists are also arguing the case for more creativity in the curriculum to better prepare children for the world of work, especially where it is predicted that many of the jobs that our 5 year olds will start are not yet known!
fielding primary school homework
Top education researchers tell us that homework has minimal impact for primary age pupils, unless it requires children to rehearse and practise. Our routines to reflect this. The routines for children in this year group are as follows:
Fielding has a private practice in Los Angeles focused on mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral therapies. Many of her clients are in the entertainment industry and experience anxiety and stress from unpredictable travel and work. Fielding has developed a practice that is flexible for her busy clients. This includes giving online homework assignments, which guide clients in their practice of mindfulness approaches to their thoughts and feelings, and checking in with them via phone in between sessions. "One of the primary skills I am trying to teach is to slow down and compassionately observe experience."
Of course! CCSC is a member of the Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization, allowing us to compete at a high level with schools similarly committed to fielding teams of scholar athletes. We welcome parent and guardian support, believing deeply that students are most successful when coordination and communication between home and school is consistent and clear. We welcome your help in making sure that students come to school on time with completed homework, a positive attitude, and ready to take on the school day. We appreciate when families reinforce the importance of doing well academically and support students in various ways. We hope parents and guardians find our school welcoming and encourage families to actively partner with us.
